Solar Power For the Twenty-first Century

We want to bring a discussion of solar power and other altenative energy sources into the residential arena. We're looking at systems that are priced so that you can get a return on your investment in just a few years.

You can learn everything you need to know about using and building solar power systems and solar panels. If want to build your own solar system, you need to read this. There are quite a few things to think about, and even though it isn't terribly hard, there are some gotchas along the way. We're here to help you avoid those.

You'll need some help and training. I can send you in the right direction. There are a huge number of courses, programs, books and documents available in the web. Most of them are just a waste of time, and of the others, many are poorly written, or just don't have enough information.

I found this report from the California Energy Commission to help you get started. It's pretty technical, and you'll probably need quite a bit of additional info, but it's a start, it's free, and for the really technically savvy, it will take you a long way.
